Altoist Francesco Cafiso (born 1989) is one of the most precocious talents in the history of italian jazz. When he was nine years old only Francesco took his first steps, working with internationally famous musicians.
The encounter with Wynton Marsalis at the Pescara Jazz Festival July 2003 was a decisive moment for Francesco’s career. Amazed by his qualities, Marsalis took him along with his septet on his European Tour.
Aftre such a brilliant start, Francesco went through a series of important experiences both in Italy and abroad.
On this 2006 vinyl pressing, Cafiso performs 9 famous standards including Lullaby of Birdland, Reflections and Speak Now. (c)
