The second volume of Earl Bostic's EP Collection contains 26 tracks that combine jump blues and R&B instrumentals recorded for King in the late '40s and '50s. Such up-tempo Bostic originals as "Blip Boogie," "Don't You Do It" "What! No Pearls?" and "Swing Low Sweet Boogie" are combined with pop standards like "Deep Purple," "Blue Skies" "Night and Day" and "I Can't Give You Anything But Love." While this is an enjoyable set, it's geared more towards the collector. Those not familiar with Bostic's material should first invest in The Very Best of Earl Bostic on Collectables or Flamingo on Living Era.
