Исполнитель: Barry Kiener Название альбома: Introducing The Barry Kiener Trio Год записи: 1980 Формат файлов: mp3, 320 kbps Размер архива: 132.3 mb Скачать с: turbobit.net Barry Kiener was a child prodigy from Rochester, New York. He started out classically trained but soon got hooked on Bebop. His father was a pharmacist and thus had access to drugs that local beboppers sought. To get his son into "the scene" he would give the local boppers their drugs of choice. Unfortunately Kiener partook of these controlled substances too at an early age. He eventually got hooked on heroin. I played a ton of gigs with him and we were very tight but he went with the Buddy Rich Band for two seperate stints. On his second stint he got hold of some black tar heroin. He OD'd on the band bus. He worshipped and sought to emulate Sonny Clark. Unfortunately he lived AND died in the same manner that Sonny Clark did. Kiener got into some of the earlier styes while spending time in my archives. Fats Waller and Hank Duncan were particular favorites. He did a fine job on a Fats Waller medley. Kiener's "Move to Vermont" (The way WHITE people explain the death of a relative to small children as in: "Uncle Barry has moved to Vermont Emily dear. He's in a better place now")...was a tragic loss. He was just getting started.
