Исполнитель: J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding Название альбома: Israel Год выпуска: 1968 Формат файлов: mp3, 192 kbps Размер архива: 52 mb Скачать с: ifolder.ru This beautiful moody album is an all-star collaboration of trombonists J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding with a little help from Herbie Hancock, Eric Gale, Ron Carter and Grady Tate plus some strings. Although it contains mostly pop tunes of that era, the atmospheric interplays of the bones give it some extra magic value. Some of the tracks were arranged by J.J., some by Don Sebesky. Trombonists J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding had two reunions on A&M LPs in 1968; they had led a very popular two-trombone quintet during 1954-56 before going their separate ways. This date is a bit commercial, with a small string section and woodwinds utilized on five of the nine numbers. Still, the beautiful tones of the co-leaders make this a worthwhile set with the highlights including "My Funny Valentine," "Israel," "St. James Infirmary," and "Django."
