Astor Theater was a historic movie theater located at Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by noted architect William Harold Lee in the Art Deco style, and built in 1928. The theater seated 2,478. It operated until 1975, then demolished in 1998 for the Sovereign Center arena. Some architectural details, such as the ornate chandelier and gates, were salvaged from the Astor Theatre and recycled in the Sovereign Center.

This recording appears to be a soundboard but the info that came with it did not confirm this. There are Youtube videos of this show with poor visual quality but great sound than claims the sound came direct from the front-of-house mix board, engineered by Brian Risner. This may be from that source. Anyway it is good stuff, from one of the greatest jazz fusion bands ever. ©
