Looking Ahead was the 7th of 10 albums Ford did for Muse Now that we have all of them you can really explore the growth of this artist over a dozen years.
Ricky begins painting this unique little album with the dynamite rhythm section of Lightsey, McBee and Waits then adds the alto and flute of James Spaulding and the tuba of John Sass to his own tenor to create a very different sound palate for this project. Ford wrote six originals on the album and shows some decided influence from his former employer Abdullah Ibrahim in his songs and horn chorus'. A lovely chapter in Ford's Muse discography, quite possibly my favorite of the bunch!
