Kenny Burrell's love affair with the music of Edward Kennedy 'Duke' Ellington has been long-lasting and fruitful. During the mid-Seventies, the guitarist assembled an all-star cast of musicians whose dedication to Duke matched his own, and recorded a pair of double-album packages of Ellington material for Fantasy: 'Ellington Is Forever', volumes one and two.
This set is by no means intended as a 'best of' collection, but rather as a representative collation from those Burrell recordings.
