Исполнитель: Kenny BarronНазвание альбома: Peruvian Blue Год выпуска: 1974 Формат файлов: mp3, 192 kbps Размер архива: 61.78 mb Скачать с: rusfolder.com This 1974 offering found the 31-year-old pianist/composer with one foot in the bop tradition and the other pointed squarely into more exploratory atmospheres. It's apparent from the first that even though PERUVIAN BLUE contains links to the past in versions of the standard "Here's That Rainy Day" and Monk's famed "Blue Monk," the album is full of forward-looking compositions and musicianship. The title cut opens with an extended intro wherein David Williams' bowed bass intertwines with Barron's electric piano and Ted Dunbar's electric guitar in a shifting, hazy kaleidoscope of sound. Eventually it moves into a cyclical, modal framework that sounds pretty damn modern, even for 1974. The interplay between Barron's post-bop harmonies and Dunbar's uniquely terse, clipped sound makes for some of PERUVIAN BLUE's defining moments. From the bluesy enunciations of "Blue Monk" to the freewheeling con-versation of "Two Areas," the two men's idiosyncratic styles combine perfectly, created a sparkling, pointillistic latticework of sound. Recommended to anyone interested in Barron's more adventurous side, this is a vital reissue from the loving archivists at 32 Jazz.
