Winner of BBC TV’s prime-time show The One And Only and former star of the stage production That’ll be The Day, Katy continues to perform her much loved Dusty Springfield show across the world. Packed with classic Dusty hits – including ‘You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me’, ‘Son Of A Preacher Man’ and ‘I Only Want To Be With You‘ – her brand new production for 2012 will feature Katy’s own unique voice performing tracks from her brand new album The Great British Songbook, all performed completely live by Katy with her exceptional band and singers. A stunning evening of world-class entertainment is assured. So come and enjoy an outstanding night of music, non-stop fun and nostalgia with one of the UK’s most popular and impressive singers. Katy has been in love with making music since she was four years old. Learning piano from a very early age she decided to pursue a career as a musician long before she left school. Gigs at folk clubs near her birthplace of Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire in her early teens were well attended and she soon gained a reputation for her powerful and mature vocal prowess. This all helped her take the step into full time work as a performing musician and in 1990 she flew to Florida and worked with a touring rock band across the USA. Further contracts abroad soon followed including a lengthy stint with the resident band at Annabel’s nightclub in Cyprus and nine months in Japan (no idea where – she couldn’t understand the signs!), interspersed with shows in the UK. In 1993 she entered the world of the tribute artist. Performing as Cher, Katy quickly realised her ability to change her voice was the key to her success. In 2000 Katy auditioned as one of the female vocalists for the hugely successful touring show That’ll Be The Day. Belting out a couple of Cher songs the gig was immediately hers and with it came the opportunity to hone her stage craft. Impersonations of Tina Turner, Debbie Harry, Shirley Bassey, Sandie Shaw,Brenda Lee, Doris Day and Shania Twain were all part of the show but the masterstroke was her uncanny ability to ‘be’ Dusty Springfield, and every night she would bring the audience to a standing ovation with her renditions of the Dusty classics. In 2007 Katy decided to take vocal coaching lessons with Kim Chandler to develop her skills even further. It was Kim who suggested Katy enter the BBC/Endemol show The One And Only and, after reaching the final 10 as Cher and Dusty she won through to the live contest in January/February 2008. After six weeks of live performance in front of a viewing audience in excess of 7 million viewers, Katy beat 11 other contestants (including Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Britney Spears and Robbie Williams impersonators) to the prize – a three-month performance contract in Legends In Concert in Las Vegas. During the TV series mentors and coaches David and Carrie Grant said of Katy’s rendition of ‘You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me’ was the best performance of the entire series and were moved to tears (along with host Graham Norton and most of the studio audience) by her ‘stunning’ performance of ‘All I See Is You’. The Grants also said, ‘Katy is a great singer. We’ve worked with the likes of Lionel Richie and Diana Ross and she could easily hold her own with the REAL artists.’ Returning from Las Vegas, Katy recorded a compilation CD entitled You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me – The Songs of Dusty and starred in her own 50-date UK theatre tour. The year ended with a residency at Stars In Concert At The Estrel in Berlin and Katy is now a regular performer there. Since 2009 Katy has toured in her own theatre show, billed as Katy Setterfield – Dusty And Friends featuring Katy as Dusty but also performing tracks by other female greats such as Cher, Tina Turner, Bette Middler and Annie Lennox along with the greatest female hits of Motown. In May 2011 Katy joined the original Springfields in a moving tribute show to Dusty at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Autumn 2011 will see Katy joining the cast of Respect La Diva on an extensive UK tour performing as Dusty Springfield.
