Tenor Jeff Rupert, born in 1964, plays straight-ahead on this orthodox one-horn quartet, backed by a superb rhythm section of Kenny Barron (p), Peter Washington (b), and Joe Farnsworth (ds).
He is a talented tenor who has played with Diane Schuur, Mel Torme, the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra, and the Benny Carter Orchestra.
This is a wonderful, classic tenor quartet work that makes full use of his natural warm tone and songful phrasing.
This orthodox tenor, which places the utmost importance on swing and mood reminiscent of Stan Getz and Harry Allen, will please many fans.
