Исполнитель: J.J. JohnsonНазвание альбома: What's New: Live in Amsterdam Год выпуска: 1957 Формат файлов: mp3|320 kbps Размер архива: 145,72 mb Скачать с: rusfolder.com For the first time ever, we get to listen to a series of live concert recordings of top American jazz musicians, made at the world-famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in the late 1950s! This incredible CD contains a great 1957 concert by the J.J. Johnson Quintet with Bobby Jaspar (ts, fl), Tommy Flanagan (p), Wilbur Little (b) and Elvin Jones (ds). No other recordings from their first European tour have survived, so this is a very valuable discovery. The sound quality of this recording, made privately by a Dutch promoter, is not quite perfect, and two selections are unfortunately incomplete, but the quality of the performance more than makes up for these technical flaws. J.J. Johnson, at age 33, was truly the best jazz trombonist in the world at the time, and everyone else makes great contributions throughout. The driving drumming by Elvin Jones is exceptionally exciting.
