Georgian pianist Giorgi Mikadze, like his renowned contemporaries (Tigran Hamasyan, Shahin Nobrasli, Shai Maestro), shows his own unique worldview by integrating clear references to the giants of American jazz with harmonic and melodic research from the traditional modes of his homeland.
On this album, recorded in June 2023 for the French label PeeWee!, he recorded compositions inspired by the rich traditions of his native Georgia
It is a repertoire of familiar and beautiful melodies taken from childhood memories, theater and film music.
