Born in a village in Balagne, Fanou was immersed in two worlds, the music of Django Reinhardt and the traditional repertoire of his island, listening to local singers and composers, accompanied by jazz guitarists. He has never stopped exploring these worlds to the rhythm of waltzes, those of the Corsicans and the Manouches, two peoples rooted in their cultural heritage.
After the diptych Gipsy Guitar from Corsica (two volumes published successively in 2021 and 2023) which showed all his qualities as a performer and creator, Fanou Torracinta's third album "La Belle Vie" shows with remarkable consistency that the conviction he has shown since his beginnings at the head of the Corsican Trio then alongside the master Tchavolo Schmitt, is a force that is moving forward. Because if it is always the same quartet that leads La Belle Vie – guitarist Benji Winterstein, double bassist William Brunard and pianist Bastien Brison – and if the line remains as frank as it is elegant, the native of Haute-Corse has gone a little further….
