Исполнитель: Emanuele Maniscalco Название альбома: From Time To Time Год выпуска: 2011 Формат файлов: mp3,320 kbps Размер архива: 98,4 Mb Скачать с: depositfiles Maniscalco, pianist and Italian drummer who now studies in Denmark, has two CDs in his name beyond this that we talk about, one of the Slow Band with Dan Kinzelman and one for the ECM ("Third Reel"). In the other two the drums play, here instead the piano. Together with Bigoni, Corini and Bandello, well-known names in the house El Gallo Rojo, he wanted to pay tribute to one of the most important and innovative figures of modern jazz: Paul Motian, a drummer who traced the history in memorable formations like the trio by Bill Evans with Scott Lafaro and the trio with Bill Frisell and Joe Lovano, just to name a few.
"From Time To Time" contains only one piece, Ombrelini, improvised by the members of the quartet, while the other six are compositions of the Motian of the Seventies (Victoria, Dance and Le Voyage), the eighties (Once Around The Park) and Ninety (The Hoax and One In Three). The quartet respects the dark and shady design of the themes, the characteristic unorthodox rhythmic conception, the great sense of expressive freedom. The Hoax is a short double bass solo; Victoria and Once Around The Park see the tenor saxophone of Bigoni shine, powerful and incisive; Dance, plastic and iridescent, is an excellent test for the performance of the whole quartet; One In Three presents its anomalous construction, deliberately disconnected, dilated; the final Le Voyage, slow and meditative, leaves the desire to listen again to the CD, to catch new nuances.
