No mater how you slice it, Dr. John was made to perform live. His brand of New Orleans jazz/Funk is both ear catching and spellbinding. The good Dr. performs here with an outstanding 7 piece band and a kick-butt horn section led by Ronnie Cuber. The highlights here include "Iko,Iko", "Big Bass Drum" and of course his signature song "Right Place, Wrong Time". Call it Mardi-gras in Switzerland if you will, but the crowd is loving every minute of this show as well as the band. I have always considered Dr. John a great live performer as seen in his previous live releases. He gives the audience what they came for, and that is some good old fashion Nu-Orlins gumbo funk/jazz that is designed to lift your spirits and get your fanny out of the chair. This guy is my definition of "COOL"!
