Исполнитель: Clark Terry Elbert "Pee Wee" Claybrook Название альбома: Reunion Год выпуска: 2001 Формат файлов: Mp3, 320 Размер архива: 126 Mb Скачать с: rusfolder Clark Terry and Peewee Claybrook had been friends for 60 years, though they had last played together a half century earlier at the time of this 1995 studio reunion. At that time, Claybrook had been playing tenor sax with the group Swing Fever for a decade, while Terry had been a leader and freelancer for a long time. With arrangements by Jon English and excellent support from the band led by trombonist Bryan Gould, the two veterans reminisce by exploring a number of favorites, predominately from the swing era. There are a number of highlights. "Seven Come Eleven" includes Terry's fat-toned flugelhorn and Howie Dudune's energetic clarinet. The hilarious vocals by Gould and Terry in "Straighten Up and Fly Right" are fun, though Terry easily eclipses the leader when it comes to scatting. Claybrook also shines throughout the CD, particularly in the intimate, very relaxed rendition of "There Is No Greater Love." Sadly, this CD proved to be Claybrook's swansong, as he died the following year. Ken Dryden
