Исполнитель: Chris ConnorНазвание альбома: Sings Lullabys of Birdland Год выпуска: 1956/1992 Формат файлов: mp3, 320 kbps Размер архива: 79,3 MB Скачать с: ifolder.ru This 12" version of SINGS LULLABYS OF BIRDLAND partially combines two Chris Connor 1954 10" LPs, and was issued in 1957 by Bethlehem Records after Chris Connor left that label for Atlantic in 1956. No matter since it leads off with the cream of Connor's performances from her 1954 date with pianist Ellis Larkins's trio, including "What Is There Is To Say?" and "Try A Little Tenderness," one of her greatest songs. Midway includes three big band singles that the singer recorded with Sy Oliver in 1953 before her official debut(s). What follows are the somewhat more relaxed and swinging tracks taken from the other 10" LP, SINGS LULLABYS FOR LOVERS, and featuring the Vinnie Burke Quintet with its novel accordion-clarinet combination. It all ends appropriately enough with Connor's hushed, plaintive take on Benny Goodman's sign-off "Goodbye."
