Исполнитель: Billie HolidayНазвание альбома: The Quintessential Billie Holiday Vol.7 Год выпуска: 1987 Формат файлов: mp3, 320 kbps Размер архива: 111.73 mb Скачать с: rusfolder.com At the time these recordings were made, the typical studio session would be three hours, enough time to get down four three-minute tunes for release on a 78 rpm disc Quintessential Vol. 7: 1938-39 album. The slight irregularity of these five dates may be a reflection of some of the disagreements surrounding Billie Holiday's repertoire, par-ticularly between herself and producer John Hammond, with whom she would soon part company It is true that much of the material here has not survived the leap from Tin Pan Alley to standard status. Yet many jazz and vocal fans would prefer listening to Billie work her magic on a trifle such as "You're Gonna See A Lot Of Me" than any number of others interpreting "Someone To Watch Over Me." Also featured here is a remarkable, rollicking Hot Lips Page solo on "Long Gone Blues," and a rendition of Billie's favorite song, "Some Other Spring."
